Driving down a narrow road, the driver happened to end up parallel to a truck at a busy intersection.  As my eyes adjusted to the glaring afternoon sun, I began to realize that it wasn’t going to be such a bad afternoon after all.

I first caught sight of an arm. An arm with sinews that weren’t worked out but worked hard. I was just beginning to wonder if that arm came with a body when a young man, probably in his early 20s, peered out and caught me staring.

He had thin red lips matched by a sculpted nose and amazing eyes. He had sun-kissed luminous skin, cheeks flushed. And for once I didn’t turn my gaze to make sure to let him know that I knew how beautiful he was.

And then, his supple red lips smiled. The smile gave way to a laugh and then a wink and what I believe was a request to exchange numbers.

When red finally turned to green, I realized that ineed, life is in the little things.
